When Mr. Kane, who works at a telecom company in Connecticut, did not arrive in Charlotte, Mr. Ali sent a text message his colleague,
“Where are you?”
Mr. Kane replied, “I landed in the Hudson.”

great job, sully.
christian is in his fourth week at flight school in daytona beach. i think all the pilots are getting drunk in a hotel room somewhere and talking about sully, this miraculous pilot person, lander of the airbus in the river hudson. they said that if they had to, upon departing their own airport, they would land it on the beach instead of the water. water is just one more obstacle to escape.
he also commented that this does not happen. when was the last plane malfunction you heard of, that didn’t end in pieces? christian and i were trying to re-hash this if we were in sully’s shoes and he certainly may be one day, but between the two of us, we compacted it down to the train of thought going something like this:
uh-oh, birds, we took off 5 minutes ago, where do we land?
going-down-now .. land in the river!
sister: sully said to the people, ‘You guys got to brace for a hard impact.’
brother: well, what do you say? we’re landing in the river now. be careful!
he went on to comment that in pilotry, one does not land a plane in the hudson. and it certainly does not remain in one solid piece. i feel as if every plane crash in a major american airline i’ve heard about is 95% wreckage. pieces. plane goes to pieces, people go to pieces. oh, a section of the plane was found. the fuselage. the little black box.
land plane in river, one piece, one plane, people get out. go home. the pilot is the amazing one here. promote him, please.

so. i’m having an opening on monday. new work from iowa: seven little jewels all hung in a row on the walls staring back at us as we eat large amounts of pizza pie and and wash it down with larger amounts of icy beer.
